Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
Seen on DVD 6th August 2008
This is probably the kevin smith movie that embraces the entire View Askewniverse the most. It cameos characters from all the other movies. Sometimes actors are playing more than just one character.
STORY: 4/7 - (Miramax? I thought they only did classy pictures, like "The Piano")
Mother mother fuck, mother mother fuck fuck, mother fuck, mother fuck, noise noise noise. So they're making a movie of "Bluntman and Chronic" the comic Banky and Holden made based on them. When Jay and Silent Bob find out people are dissing them on the internet they decide the only way to stop it is to stop the movie being made. and then... well... stuff happens.
ACTING: 3/7 - (my ex-girlfriend-who-was-killed-by-a-car-explosion's monkey)
What can be said. Ben Affleck plays himself.
CINE / VISUAL EFFECTS: 4/7
There were some cool explosions and Silent Bob used the force.
SCORE / SOUND: 3.5/7
I don't remember any score but there were lots of "comical" sound effects
SONGS: N/A
OVERALL: 6/7 - (more than the sum of it's parts)
It's honestly a pretty terrible movie, but it's SOOOO entertaining.
Interesting facts -
- I'm not even gonna try to mention all the movie refferences
- The word "fuck" is said 228 times
- Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammil hadn't worked together since Star Wars
- The house from "Leave it to Beaver" is on the movie
